Graham Lawlor
Graham is the founder of Ultra Light Startups and acts as organizer, MC and panel moderator at events held in New York.
Graham and is a frequent speaker, blogger, and press source on topics related to “ultralight startups”, bootstrapping, and building online businesses. He has been quoted in publications such as BusinessWeek, Entrepreneur Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and BBC News.
Prior to founding Ultra Light Startups, Graham spent 10 years as an IT project manager at UBS and Deutsche Bank. Graham holds a BS in Philosophy from the University of Illinois and an MA in Economics from New York University. In his spare time, Graham races sailboats in the New York area and internationally.
New York – Hosts
Ray Bernaz is the founder and CEO of Socialibrium LLC. He provides the strategic vision for Socialibrium’s roadmap and works with the development team to translate that into practice. Aside from hosting Ultralight Startups in New York City, Ray co-founded their London chapter.Before founding Socialibrium, Ray spent 8 years in investment banking in both IT infrastructure and sales & trading; working in New York, London, and Frankfurt. It was the combination of these experiences in the front and back offices — both sitting outside a Network Operations Center (NOC) and watching how financial professionals juggled relationships — that gave him the inspiration for Socialibrium. The idea was to provide a “NOC” for people’s own personal and professional networks, so they could quickly and easily ascertain which relationships required the most urgent attentionRay holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, where he studied Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Business. He also completed an honors certificate program in International Business Diplomacy. In his free time, Ray enjoys trail-running, competing in ultramarathons, coaching youth soccer, and spending time with his wife and three young children.
David Carlos
David is the CEO of David Carlos Managed Information Architects, a managed service provider for medical offices and practices. He is a life-long technology expert and entrepreneur with over 15 years of professional experience in IT management and support, and new media.
His expertise and leadership skills have earned him a reputation as a top technology guru, making him a sought after personality and expert to speak at technology and business forums and events, as well as hosting a new television documentary series, “After Earth”.
David plays just as hard as he works. A lover of extreme sports and the outdoors, he’s an avid extreme skier, mountain biker, and rock climber. He’s also a certified New York State Wildlife Rehabilitator. When he’s not on a mountain or near a computer, you can find David integrating Space Shuttle technology into his motorcycle.
Jennifer Takaki
Jennifer is the founder of The Pickle Club, a video-based website about pickles and pickled-things as they relate to people history and culture. She believes that pickles can be yummy, fun and educational. Her background is in journalism.
When she’s not working as a pickle correspondent, she works as a freelance television producer in New York City. Her projects include a pilot for the Smithsonian Institute, a documentary about the making of a girl band and a news & current affairs talk show for the BET network. Prior to New York, she spent six years in Hong Kong producing both news and entertainment programming for Encore International and the STAR TV Network. Jennifer also works in corporate sales for a water purification company. Her message to the masses? Eat more pickles and no more water bottles!
Matt is co-founder of Under30CEO. Matt engages and inspires diverse audiences with strategic insights and passionate focus to achieve success. He has been a featured speaker at corporate events, conferences, professional development seminars and university lectures. Matt also provides consulting to expand your company’s success, whether you’re in the early stages of your vision or in motion. Cris De Luca
Cris is a Boston native and Global Head of Operations for Research Computing at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Cambridge, MA.
Cris organizes Ultra Light Startups Boston and an entrepreneur at heart. He runs Aurora De Luca Photography, and instructs courses for the Computer Science department at Boston University, where he co-founded the Project Management Association.
Cris spent a number of years at Deutsche Bank as a Sr. IT Project Manager and Technical Linguist. He obtained a BS in Business Administration from Suffolk University, and a MSc. in Computer Information Systems from Boston University. He is currently secretly working on “the next big thing!”. In his spare time, Cris drinks espresso, rides a vintage vespa, makes his own wine and enjoys relaxing in the hills of southern Italy.
Graham Clarke
Graham is the founder of 53 Technology and Dealicio. Graham has been a technology consultant and web application developer for more than 12 years. Before becoming an Internet Consultant, Graham worked as a researcher at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, where he was responsible for database development and data analysis for several large research projects. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Graham lives in Hanover, New Hampshire with his three children and is a hockey dad and ski tech and sherpa.
David Ulrich
David is founder of Gene Home Inc and WorkBar Boston.
Gene Home Inc realizes that effective exploitation of this vast amount of information produced by microarray-driven research is crucial in achieving goals such as developing cures and discovering causes of diseases and we are ready to help.
