Graham Lawlor in the news spotlight
BBC News was in town Thursday night to feature Ultra Light Startups and its founder Graham Lawlor.
Graham took center stage as Philippa Thomas with the BBC wanted to discover just what it means to be a bootstrapping Ultra Light Startup.
The night capped off with a panel of company founders talking about the importance of customer service and making a great first impression when you are a new business. The panel of experts included:
• Jed Alpert, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Mobile Commons
• Steven Asherman, Founder/President of Base One International
• Sam Lessin, Founder and CEO of Drop.io
• Peter Stern, Founder and President of Zenbe
Jed Alpert stressed the importance of customer support. He says that providing premium support for your first customers will help your organization build a solid reputation.
Steven Asherman says that when a paying customer has a problem, your company has a great opportunity to remedy the situation and turn the issue into both a positive and memorable experience.
Peter Stern says it’s vital to be open and honest with your clients from the start, so you can build a reputation of trust and dependability.
Ultra Light Startups next meeting will be a Legal Roundtable discussion for startups with a focus on immigration. That will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.

It was a great event, I thought it was especially interesting how people had such varied interpretations of what SAAS is.
